The New Evangelization
As a Catholic Christian Community we are called to be disciples of Christ. Our mission is to spread the Good News of Jesus. In our culture today we are judged by what we own and not what our values are. We live in a celebrity culture where people desire instant fame and wealth. We are bombarded with messages that tell us we can be happy by acquiring material things.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Two thousand years ago Christ was the message, and he still is today. We, too, as members of the Body of Christ are obligated to continue spreading the life-giving message of the Gospel. The New Evangelization calls us to renew our faith so that we can share it with others. Jesus grants all people rest and comfort from the burdens of this world. The rest and comfort of Christ comes from the hope offered by him: the hope of salvation and eternal life. This hope can transform our lives with the promise of eternal life and comfort to the weary. Let us all do what we can to spread the Good News!
